Recurring waste scans run automatically on paid plans with Monitoring or Team. Open Settings → Monitoring & alerts in the Parsivex app to choose frequency, day (for weekly scans), hour, and timezone.
Cadence by plan
| Plan | Waste scan cadence |
|---|---|
| Free | One manual scan — no recurring schedule |
| Monitoring | Monthly or weekly (your choice) |
| Team | Monthly, weekly, or daily |
Daily waste scans are a Team-plan feature. On Monitoring, the daily option appears in settings but stays locked until you upgrade.
Cost anomaly monitoring (daily spend spike detection) runs every morning on both paid tiers regardless of your waste-scan cadence. See Cost anomaly alerts.
Setting your schedule
- Go to Settings → Monitoring & alerts.
- Under Scan schedule, pick Monthly, Weekly, or Daily (Team only).
- For Weekly, choose the day of the week (for example, Mondays).
- Set Run at to the hour you want scans to start.
- Confirm Timezone — it defaults to your browser's time zone the first time you configure a schedule.
- Click Save schedule. The Next scan line updates immediately with the next run in your chosen time zone.
Within the hour, not the exact minute
Parsivex checks for due scans once per hour. A schedule set to 03:00 means the scan starts during the 03:00 hour in your selected time zone — not necessarily at 03:00:00 on the dot. Plan around the hour window when choosing when scans should run.
Timezone behavior
- The timezone picker uses standard IANA names (for example,
Europe/Copenhagen,America/New_York). - Next scan is always shown in the timezone you selected, including the abbreviated offset name (for example, CEST).
- If you travel or your team works across regions, update the timezone so scans stay aligned with your business hours.
What happens on downgrade
| Change | Effect on your schedule |
|---|---|
| Team → Monitoring | If you were on daily, Parsivex clamps the cadence to weekly and keeps your day, hour, and timezone. Daily is no longer selectable until you re-upgrade. |
| Paid → Free | Recurring scans stop. monitoringEnabled turns off and there is no next scheduled scan until you subscribe again. |
| Re-upgrade | Monitoring turns back on and the next scan is recalculated from your saved schedule fields (after any clamping above). |
Schedule fields themselves are not deleted on downgrade — upgrading again restores control without re-entering everything.
Related alerts
After a successful recurring scan, Parsivex can email or Slack you about new waste or resolved findings. That is separate from your scan cadence. See Email and Slack monitoring alerts.
